We'll miss you, Amelia Rode, PA-C

December 30, 2019

Dear Patients and Friends,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce that I will be leaving Pinon Family Practice effective Thursday, January 23, 2020.

I have loved taking care of you and have loved working with the Providers and staff of Pinon Family Practice.  However, my husband and I have chosen to leave Colorado and move back to Virginia to be with our aging parents and families.

I understand this might be very upsetting to some of you, but I hope you will understand that this was a very difficult decision for me.  For those of you whom I have cared for these past few years it has been a privilege.  I sincerely hope you continue striving towards better and optimal health even in my absence.

That said, Pinon Family Practice is a wonderful place to continue to call your medical home.  I have been working closely with my replacement and Nurse Practitioner, Morgan Broadway since the beginning of the December and will continue to until I leave.  Your complete medical records will remain at Pinon Family Practice.

As are all of our providers at Pinon Family Practice, Morgan Broadyway, NP is more than capable of taking over and handling your primary healthcare needs.  Morgan comes to us with 3 years of experience as an ICU nurse before returning to school in 2016 to obtain her Doctorate in Nursing Practices.  While looking for a long term position within family medicine, Morgan has spent the last few years in geriatric medicine as well as urgent care.  She brings a very wide spectrum of medical knowledge!

Trista Swift, Maggie Kolb, Chris Douglas and Stephanie Gomolka are all exceptional Physician Assistants as well and are open to new patients.  Additionally, Dr. Mary “Caitlin” St. Clair joined Pinon Family Practice in 2019 and is also accepting new patients.  We understand that your partnership with your PCP is a very important one and want you to feel that it is a great fit.  Please visit the groups’ website at www.pinonfamilypractice.com to read their individual bios.

For those patients with HMO plans, you can keep your delegated PCP to any of the Physicians at Pinon and still see a PA/NP as your primary care provider.  The insurance billing is all submitted by the groups Tax ID number and will not affect your coverage with Pinon Family Practice.  Where necessary, please select one of our senior doctors, Dr. Darcy Scheeler or Dr. Tamara Wilson just to be 100% sure you stay in-network.

During the coming weeks I will be available to tie up any loose ends. Please feel free to call the office to set up follow-up appointments with me until January 23, 2020.  Morgan will be working closely with me until my final day and it would be a great opportunity for you to meet her.  In addition, I am available by patient portal message for any specific issues or concerns you might have in this transition.

In closing I want to thank you again for putting your trust in me to take care of you.  I will always value the information, stories, and emotions you have shared with me in confidence.

Be well and, of course, stay well!

Amelia Rode, PA-C
